Washington, DC Summer Restaurant Week is back. If you missed it last year, here is your chance to check out over 200 restaurants offering a three-course fixed price meal under $40. To make the most out of your visit, make your reservation online through OpenTable.com or call to reserve your table.
If you're in the mood for Italian, Carmine's, NYC Legendary Family Italian Restaurant is now open in Gallery Place. There are no fancy menus, as in all Carmine’s you will see a broadcast on large boards placed in various locations throughout the restaurant.
I was first introduced to Carmine's by the request of my daughter after seeing the stage play, The Color Purple in New York. The food exuded that genuine Italian flavor that I've longed for. I'm very big on appetizers so I recommend the Zuppa De Mussels, Stuffed Mushrooms, Fried Calamari, and Fried Zucchini. For the entrée I suggest the Chicken Marsala, and the Veal Parmigiana.
